Frequently Asked Team Member Questions:

When do i get paid?
Pay Day
We get paid every Friday! Any days you have worked Monday – Sunday in a week, you will be paid for on the following Friday. Here is an example below:

  • Your first paycheck will be a physical paper check that can be picked up in ESO. After your first check it will go to direct deposit.
  • If you have signed up for the Rapid Pay card, your first check will be direct deposit to that card.
  • If at any point you want or need to change your direct deposit, you can do that on UKG: https://sixflags.ultipro.com
How do Points work?
Attendance Policy
 Good attendance is a very important part of your overall work record. If you are late or don’t come to work as scheduled, a notation is made on your service log as you will be placing a heavy burden on the rest of your Team. A poor attendance record is grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination, and can affect your rehire status. Be sure that you follow all attendance policies carefully! 
  • Point System: If you are late or miss a scheduled day of work, you will accumulate “points” on your record. The point system below explains each way on how to accumulate these points.  
  • Doctors Notes: All medical related notes must go through first aid. They will then provide a medical disposition that can be turned into ESO to clear points. ESO DOES NOT excuse points for same day doctor’s visits unless doctor has placed the Team Member off work for 3-days or more.  (EX. If you call out the same day that you visit the Doctor, those points for that day will not be excused)
  • Going Home Through First Aid: If a Team Member clocks in for their shift and immediately reports to First Aid before reporting to their location, they will be receiving a 5 – point absence for the day. If a Team Member goes home early through First Aid they will not receive points.
  • Semi Annual Reset: A reset will occur semi-annually where every employees’ points will go back down to 0.
  • Corrective Action Schedule: Team Members will be subject to corrective action each time they reach or exceed a 10-point limit. 
    •  1st - 10 Points Accumulated: Written Warning issued 
    • 2nd - 20 Point Limit Violation: Final Written Warning issued 
    • 3rd - 30 Point Limit Violation (30 points total): Suspension pending review and potential termination  ​

POINT SYSTEM  
  • Absent = 5 points
    • ​Team Member is absent and calls prior to the start of their shift or otherwise notifies the Employee Services Office/Human Resources in a manner that is deemed acceptable. 
  • Call After Absent = 10 Points
    • Team member calls out after scheduled shift. Employee will receive a No Call, No Show if they do not call during the first 2 hours of their scheduled shift.
  • No Call No Show Absent = 20 points
    • Team Member fails to come in or call in their absence during their shift time. Team Member calls in late, but never shows up. 
  • California Sick Absent = 0 Points (if eligible)
    • See the Sick Pay Policy for Seasonal Employees for more information and eligibility. Reasons for Call Outs must meet CAS Requirements.  
  • California Sick Absent Partial Shift only = 2 Points (if eligible)
    • Team Member uses California Sick Absent but does not use California Sick time to cover their entire scheduled shift.
  • California Sick Late = 0 Points (if eligible)
    • ​Team Members who are running late due to CAS reason(s) may request Sick Late
  • Jury Duty = 0 Points​ (appropriate documentation must be provided) 
  • Late 30 minutes or less = 2 points
  • Late 31 minutes or more = 4 points ​
How do i call out for my shift? 
Calling Out 
If you are unable to make it to your shift you must call ESO (661) 255-5903 on the day of the shift before the shift starts. If you are unable to call out on the day of your shift, ESO may be able to make accommodations for you.

​Alternatives to calling out of work: 
  • Try to find a co-worker who is off and is willing to take your shift. If you find someone to take your shift you must speak with scheduling or your department.
  • Try speaking with your department Supervisor to see if they are willing to remove you from the schedule for that day.
  • Try to speak with Scheduling (661) 255-4545 to see if you are able to be removed from the schedule. Scheduling can remove you if due to the following reason(s): death in family, scheduled against availability, approved by department, emergency leave of absence, or in school (only if school schedule has been submitted).
  • If the day you need off is more than 3 - weeks away, request time off in your employee portal: sixflags.team
How do i use my california sick pay?
California Sick Pay (CAS)
Team Members can request to use their CAS when they are calling in for a shift. Be sure when speaking with ESO about calling out or calling late verbally request your CAS. Team Members can request a minimum of 2-hours and a maximum of 8-hours. CAS can only be requested if your reason is medically/sick related (Example: sick, covid, not feeling well, headache/migriane, grievance, etc.) Reference: California Sick Pay Policy
  • Team Members only get access to their CAS after working 90-days with the company.
  • Team Members only have access to use 40-hours in one calendar year

Checking Hours Available 
To check how many CAS hours you have available log into your employee portal: sixflags.team
  • Once logged in head to the "Time Off Request tab"
  • Click "Submit New Time Off"
  • Select the "Type" drop down menu & choose "California Sick"

Here it will show you the hours you have available to use. Be aware that CAS hours still accrue even if your 40-hours yearly limit has been reached.
Where can i take my breaks?
​Coaster Café & Vending Machines
  • Coaster Café is our Team Member cafeteria located between Food Etc. and Goliath. There you can find chicken strips, burgers, fries and a special of the day at a discounted price. Please be advised they only accept credit/debit card as we are a cashless park.
  • We also have Grab & Go vending machines that have a huge assortment of food, snacks and drinks. These machines are located in Coaster Café, Wardrobe, Shady Restrooms Breakroom, & Full Throttle Plaza Breakroom. These machines accept cash or card but do not give change.

Break Areas
  • There are many break areas located throughout the park for you to use. Please ask you Leads or Supervisors at your location and they can direct you to the closest one. Please see Break Room Map below for reference.
How many Complimentary tickets do i have?
Employees, upon hire, may use their ID card for free employee admission and parking to all Six Flags & Cedar Fair parks. All Complementary Tickets are a benefit for Active Team Members in good standing and may be voided tor terminated Team Members. Sale, barter, or misuse of tickets and/or passes will subject Team Members to disciplinary action up to and including Termination.

All active employees are eligible for the following complimentary tickets based on their Benefits Classification:
  • Full Time: 20 Complimentary Tickets
  • Part Time w/ Benefits: 16 Complimentary Tickets
  • Part Time: 16 Complimentary Tickets
  • Seasonal (New Hire Employees): 8 Complimentary Tickets
  • Seasonal (Rehired Employees): 16 Complimentary Tickets 
If you are requesting more than you have available, you will receive the max amount available at the time of your request, if any.

Complimentary Ticket Requests can be made under the Employee Resources tab under ESO Forms and then clicking "Complimentary Ticket Request". *Be advised that the Buddy Pass is no longer an employee perk & they would need to have their own park ticket for entry. 
How do i purchase discount tickets & Passes?
Employees, upon hire, may use their ID card for free employee admission and parking. All discount passes & tickets are a benefit for Active Team Members in good standing and may be voided tor terminated Team Members. Sale, barter, or misuse of tickets and/or passes will subject Team Members to disciplinary action up to and including Termination. 

Discount Tickets can ONLY be purchased at the Front Gate of each park for the price of $35

All active employees are eligible for the following Discounted Gold Passes based on their Benefits Classification:
Full-Time & Part Time Employees:
  • (5) $50 Gold Pass w/ All Park Passport (No Restriction)
  • (16) $50 Gold Pass w/ All Park Passport (Family Only)
Seasonal Employees:
  • (4) $50 Gold Pass w/ All Park Passport (No Restriction)

Discounted Pass Requests can be made under the Employee Resources tab under ESO Forms and then clicking "Employee Pass Requests"
how do i redeem my complimentary season passes? 
Employees, upon hire, may use their ID card for free employee admission and parking. All redeemable Complimentary Season Passes are a benefit for Active Team Members in good standing and requests may be voided tor terminated Team Members. Sale, barter, or misuse of tickets and/or passes will subject Team Members to disciplinary action up to and including Termination. If season passes have already been redeemed, they will continue to work even if your employment is terminated. Season passes are ONLY valid for 1 calendar year the pass gets purchased.​

All active employees are eligible for the following Complimentary Gold Passes w/ Park Passport based on their Benefits Classification:
Full-Time & Part Time Employees:
  • Gold Pass w/ All Park Passport for spouse and minor children OR (1) person of choice
​Seasonal Employees:
  • 1-4 Years - One Gold Pass w/ All Park Passport
  • 5+ Years - Two Gold Passes w/ All Park Passport

What are my employee discounts in the park? 
All active employees are eligible for the following Employee Discounts based on their Benefits Classification:
Full-Time Employees:
  • 30% off Food & Beverage
  • 40% off Merchandise 
Part-Time w/ Benefits. Part-Time, & Seasonal Employees:​
  • 30% off Food & Beverage
  • 25% off Merchandise
All Employees are eligible to purchase discounted tickets are the park's Front Gate for $35

To use your employee discounts just show your Employee ID Badge to the Team Member helping you out with your purchase.
How do I view my schedule/request time off/Change availability?

Time Off Requests
Requests for time off will be made through the sixflags.team employee portal. Requests will need be approved by your manager or department representative. Time off requests must be submitted 3-weeks or more in advance.

Availability Change
Requests to change your availability will be made through the sixflags.team employee portal. Requests will need be approved by your manager or department representative. If your new availability gets approved it will take up to 3-weeks to reflect on your new schedules.

How Will I Know if I need to come in for my shift if the park is closed due to rain?
If you are anticipating the park to close due to weather, please check for the following:
  • ​Contact ESO (661) 255-5903 to verify if the park is closed
  • Wait for a phone call, email, and/or text that the park will be closing
  •  Go onto Six Flags Magic Mountain social media to see if they are any posts stating the park closure

*Disclosure: If you call out of your shift before the park is announced to be closed, those points will stand and will be unable to be excused

 After your identity is verified online, you will create a user ID (which can also be your ss#) and password
 If you already have a brokerage account with Fidelity- simply log in and you should see the items below
 Once you have completed the Registration process or log in, you will see “SIX FLAGS 401k PLAN” Under “Your Accounts”
 Click on that link and select your actions from the left menu: contributions, elections and investments… New contributions or changes to existing elections will be updated for Six Flags payroll within one to two payroll cycles.

401(k) Eligibility Requirements
 All active team members who are at least 21 years of age can participate

401(k) Employer Match Eligibility Requirements
 An employee will become eligible for the match after they work 12 months including 1000 hours of service
 If you are not match eligible during your first year of service (worked 1000 hours), match eligibility will be measured based upon a calendar year
 Only participants who defer into the Plan and have met the eligibility requirements for the match are eligible to receive the match

Employer Match
 Six Flags will match 100% of each pre-tax dollar you contribute on the first 3%, and 50% of the next 2% of pay that you defer to your Plan. To take full advantage of the company match, be sure to defer at least 5%, but deferring even 1% qualifies you for the match! Participants do not have to be employed on 12/31 to receive the match contribution
